Congratulations once again to Nevill’s James Whyte who won the Sussex Amateur yesterday.
After reaching the knockout stages James won at the 1st extra hole in the last 16 and 7&6 in the quarter final.
That set up a semi final match with fellow Nevill member Jon Exon-Taylor which James won 2&1.
On to the final against Drew Sykes of Goodwood where James saved his best until last. After being 2 down with 5 to play he birdied the next 4 holes to
turn the match around and win 2&1!
Fantastic achievement James and our clubs first Sussex Amateur winner since Todd Adcock in 2007.
